Hello! Today, let’s delve into the fascinating realm of AI and explore the wonders of utilizing a Chatbot, powered by GPT, which stands for Generative Pre-trained Transformer.

Now, let’s embark on a journey through the captivating history of AI. This remarkable field has flourished over decades, thanks to the groundbreaking contributions of visionary researchers such as Geoffrey Hinton, Andrew Ng, Ian Goodfellow, from Google. Sam Altman CEO, OpenAI, Elon Musk, CEO Tesla, Yann LeCun, Demis Hassabis, Karen Hao, Kirk Borne, Jeremy Howard, Clement Delangue from Hugging Face, Mark Zuckerberg, CEO, Meta, Jeff Bezos, CEO Amazon and Jim Simon, CEO from Renaissance Technologies, who is in the financial sector. There are many individuals across the world who are masters in this technology.

These brilliant minds have been instrumental in advancing AI technology, bringing it closer to the general public at an astounding pace. They’ve achieved feats once thought impossible by using computer code such as *Python, Rust, *R, C#, C, Java. Built in millions of lines of code to build an automated algorithm that has the capability using speed, clean input and the internet or regulated massive data farms not connect to the internet. Before training these models, they meticulously clean the data, ensuring its quality and reliability. They take this algorithm to train models using frameworks such as TensorFlow: developed by Google Brain. PyTorch: Developed by Facebook’s AI Research lab FAIR. Keras: Keras is an open-source neural network library written in Python. Scikit-learn: Scikit-learn is a Python library with vast amounts of data using semi-supervised and supervised techniques. MXNet: Developed by Apache Software Foundation. Caffe: Caffe is a deep learning framework developed by Berkeley AI Research. Microsoft Cognitive Toolkit. These frameworks provide developers and researchers with the tools and resources necessary to train a wide range of machine learning models, from simple linear regressions to complex deep neural networks.

It is a very arduous task sifting through hundreds of terabytes of data and billions of parameters, but it’s crucial for producing accurate predictions. When it comes to chatbots, the goal is to match clean input with the intended response accurately that matches the theory that is relevant to your question and thinking.

Sam Altman and his team at OpenAI have achieved remarkable progress by training models to scrape vast amounts of data from the internet, even though it has occasionally raised concerns about copyright infringement.

This large language model, known as a chatbot, can swiftly provide information in response to queries. However, it’s essential to exercise caution and refrain from divulging any personal information while interacting with these chatbots. Remember, these AI models are continually learning, and safeguarding our privacy is paramount. Never disclose personal details such as addresses, phone numbers, social security numbers, or any other identification numbers, even when using paid versions of the software. Take my advice and trust it.

To ensure your safety, consider using word processors like Microsoft Word, Office 365, WordPad or your preferred text editor. Simply copy the data to and from the text editor to the chatbot, omitting any personal information. Always remember to proofread and correct any grammatical or spelling errors before proceeding. By following these precautions, you can engage safely and confidently with AI technologies while protecting your privacy.
Be creative with your prompts and practice using them. Always ensure you fact-check and confirm that your questions and answers align with the theory you are thinking of.

There are currently five competing chatbots available today, and each day sees the emergence of new companies with innovative approaches. Essentially, they all serve the same purpose. One notable contender is Claude, from Anthrobic, boasting a larger data token which you can review on their website provided below, along with links to other chatbots. We also have ChatGPT from OpenAI, Google’s Bard (now Gemini), Microsoft’s Copilot, Anthrobic’s Claude, and Mixtral’s Mistral. Jinaai from China is also gaining prominence.

There are 3 types of AI based on their capabilities and functionalities

1. Narrow AI (Weak AI): Narrow AI, also known as Weak AI, refers to AI systems that are designed and trained for a specific task or a narrow set of tasks. These systems excel at performing predefined tasks within a limited domain. Examples of narrow AI include virtual assistants like Siri or Alexa, recommendation systems, image recognition software, and language translation tools.

2. General AI (Strong AI): General AI, also known as Strong AI or Artificial General Intelligence (AGI), refers to AI systems that possess human-like intelligence and are capable of understanding, learning, and applying knowledge across a wide range of tasks and domains. These systems can reason, plan, solve problems, and adapt to new situations in a manner similar to humans. General AI remains a theoretical concept and has not yet been achieved. We are very close, if not already there, and we may not even be aware of it.

3. Superintelligent AI: Superintelligent AI refers to AI systems that surpass human intelligence across all domains and activities. These systems would possess cognitive abilities far superior to that of humans and could potentially outperform humans in every intellectual task. This is where this could be very beneficial  in the health care sector, and not so beneficial in warfare technology in my mind.

USA, China, Israel, and India are engaged in a serious race, with their large microchip corporations striving to build even faster, larger language models (GPTs). These models are built onto GPUs (Graphics Processing Units), similar to the graphics cards in video game consoles, but they are used to compute data at serious petaflop speeds, akin to supercomputers and high-end data processing devices.

These chips are advancing at such a rapid pace that almost every 90 days or less, they unveil even faster chips. These chips are manufactured in Taiwan by TSMC, they also make them in their who factory. Nvidia utilizes its proprietary software that goes onto these chips, enabling the actions required for AI to come to life.

These chips are equipped with billions of transistors at such a small scale, utilizing nanotechnology, which essentially packs all electronic components into circuits the size of your palm, if not smaller. The names of these chips are the H100 ($25,000 per chip in US$) and now the new Blackwell platform, which features 2 B100 chips molded together, now called the GB200, which is many times faster than the H100, essentially increasing from 4 petaflops to 20 petaflops and beyond. ($35-45,000 per module).

A petaflop is a computational speed metric used in supercomputers and high-speed computing devices.

We now have a device on the market called the Rabbit R1, which is an AI assistant that connects to your smartphone and automatically handles all the tasks you need it to. It books appointments, calls people, texts people – you simply talk into it, and it works its magic. I’ve provided a link to this neat device. Remember, this is brand new and it’s in high demand, so there’s a backlog. It retails for $200 USD.

There is also another company that has created a platform chatbot called Devin. It is essentially an AI software engineer. It may seem a bit intimidating, but if you’re interested, you should check out the Devin link I have provided. This innovative tool has the potential to revolutionize the way software development is approached, offering solutions and insights that traditional methods may overlook. It is not released to the public yet, but I’m waiting and excited to see the results.

As a deaf-blind member of this community, I am very grateful for the advancements made by OpenAI in November 2022. This technology has supercharged the way I do things now. It speeds up tasks like no other, as long as you know how to use it effectively. I have always been a tech guy, learning mechatronics technology from the late 90s, and to this day.

I keep tabs on things as I find it to be a hobby of interest for me. Just as some people enjoy sports, cycling, or cars, I am passionate about robotics and automation. Ever since I was a kid, I have looked for ways to make things more useful and less cumbersome, using time effectively. This mindset has helped me in making more formal letters advocating for the deaf-blind community, particularly in trying to introduce a new program for those with Usher syndrome, ensuring they have the ability to obtain hearing aids without the high costs that come with these devices.
