Who am I, why this site

I am Michael S, a determined and accomplished individual with a remarkable journey marked by unwavering determination, expertise in mechatronics technology, and an indomitable fascination for power generation and automation. My life story, however, is not without its share of adversities, as I was diagnosed with Usher syndrome, specifically retinitis pigmentosa, which led to significant challenges in my career, daily life, and overall prospects. Despite facing these insurmountable barriers, I am dedicated to empowering others to pursue their dreams, irrespective of the obstacles they might encounter due to this devastating disease.

Education and Passion:
Education and Passion: My passion for mechatronics engineering flourished early on in my young years, driving me to pursue higher education in this multidisciplinary field. I embarked on an inspiring journey through college, acquiring the skills and knowledge necessary to excel in the complex world of mechatronics. My academic achievements were fueled by a relentless thirst for knowledge, bolstered by an innate fascination with power generation and automation.

High Voltage Substation Transformers:

After completing my education, I honed my expertise in electro hydraulic/pneumatic, power generation, electrification and found myself drawn to the challenging realm of high voltage substation transformers. My proficiency in this specialized area allowed me to contribute to critical infrastructure projects that play a crucial role in power distribution and transmission. I took immense pride in my work, knowing that my contributions directly impacted communities and industries that rely on stable and efficient power supplies

Overcoming Adversity:
However, my professional journey took an unexpected turn when I was diagnosed with Usher syndrome, specifically retinitis pigmentosa. As this devastating disease progressed, it gradually took away not only my vision but also various aspects of my life. My career, homes, licenses, family. It all slipped through my fingers, leaving me facing the harsh reality of the impact of Usher syndrome on personal and professional fronts living through it all alone without any assistance..
Advocacy and Empowerment:
Instead of succumbing to despair, I channeled my experiences into a mission to help others facing similar challenges. I am committed to supporting individuals in their pursuit of career goals, advocating for a more inclusive environment, and raising awareness about Usher syndrome and its effects on daily life. My goal is to empower others to overcome obstacles and reach their fullest potential, despite the barriers they may encounter due to this condition.

The Call for Understanding:
I firmly believe that greater awareness and understanding of Usher syndrome are essential, particularly on the part of governmental bodies at both the federal and provincial levels. By shedding light on the impact of this disease on individuals’ lives, I strive to encourage policymakers to prioritize research, support, and accommodations, creating a more inclusive society for those affected by Usher syndrome.
In summary, I am Michael S, a passionate and resilient individual who has conquered the intricacies of mechatronics engineering and contributed significantly to the field of high voltage substation transformers. Despite facing the challenges brought on by Usher syndrome, my commitment to empowering others and advocating for a more compassionate and inclusive society remains unwavering. I aspire to inspire future generations and effect positive change, ensuring that no one is held back by adversity on their journey to fulfilling their dreams.
